Viva Kerala striker Sabeeth C S reckons he will back in the action by February next year after sustaining a knee injury that forced him to miss Viva Kerala’s matches in the ongoing I-League.
“I will start light training sessions from tomorrow and hopefully make a comeback by February,” Sabeeth told IndianFootball.Com.
The 20 year old was named in the probables of the India under-23 squad for the SAFF Cup, AFC Challenge Cup and Asian Games. But he will miss out on the SAFF Cup which will be held in Bangladesh this December. But there are chances that he might wear the India jersey in the AFC Challenge Cup to be hosted by Sri Lanka in February 2010.
“I have got a letter from the AIFF asking me to join the camp by November 14. But I have written to the federation stating my injury. It is really disappointing to miss out on a chance of playing for the country,” he added.
The former India under-19 player’s absence has been hurting Viva Kerala too who have lost four of their five games in the ongoing I-League. He is confident that once back he can deliver the goods for his
