Malayala Manorama Gold Cup to kick off at Edavanna today

Malayala Manorama Gold Cup All-India Football Tournament will be held at Seethi Haji Football Ground, Edavanna, from January 2nd to 21st. The second edition of the tournament jointly organized by Malappuram District Football Association and Juvenile Club, Edavanna will feature 12 top class football team from India

The first edition in 2006 was known as Alukkas All India Invitation Football Tournament. KSEB triumphed defeating Viva Kerala who, were then playing their first professional tournament. Major clubs like Mohammedan Sporting Club, Titanium Trivandrum and Indian Bank Chennai were a part of the first edition, following which the Seethihajee Memorial Ground was closed for turfing and renovation.

The matches will kick off at 6:45pm under flood lights at Juvenile Sports Club owned Seethi Haji Football Grounds.
