Viva Kerala had an untidy start to the new I-League season as the team were defeated by Salgaocar SC 3-0 at the Jawahar Municipal Stadium, Kannur.
The star of the evening was Salgaocar's Japanese midfielder Ryuji Seuoka who roped in a brace and was declared Man of the Match. Ryuji scored in the 8th and 61st minute against Viva Kerala. Anthony Barbosa also found the net in the second minute of the first half added time.
