In the fist pre-quarter final match of the 36th Mathrubhumi Kerala State Club Football Championship, Malabar United dominated Unity Soccer to come out 6-0 winners and qualify for the quarter finals of the tournament.
It was again the brilliance of Kerala Santosh Trophy player V Usman that helped Malabar to an eaasy win. Usman scored four goals against Unity Soccer to take his tally of goals to seven in two matches. Usman completed his hat-trick in just 18 minutes of first half.
In the other match of the day, Chandni FC kicked off their campaign with a 2-0 win over Shooters United FC. The first half ended goalless, but Babu and Rajeesh found the back of the net in the second half to gift the Kozhikode based club a win.

Meanwhile, Josco FC who are scheduled to play their first match in the tournament next week, will face Punjab Police in the final of the Bisahu Das Mahant Memorial All India Gold Cup Football Tournament being held at Korba in Chhattisgarh on Sunday. Josco FC reached the finals after defeating Western Mumbai United 3-0 in the semi finals.

Josco FC of Kerala won the title of Bisahu Das Mahant Memorial All India Gold Cup Football Championship, held at Priyaadarshini Stadium, Korba, Chattisgarh. In the Final they beat Punjab Police 3-1.
For Josco Satish scored double and N. Mohammed scored the rest. Josco FC reached the final by beating Western Mumbai United 3-0 in the semi final.
