A late equaliser from Viva Kerala forward CS Sabeeth helped Indian under-23 national team to advance into the second round of the London 2012 Olympic Football Qualifiers. India were losing on away goal rule when Sabeeth came off the bench to score the crucial goal in the 90th minute.
In the match played at Youth Training Centre, Yangoon, in front of an hostile crowd numbering to around 20,000, Myanmar played very impressively and deserved to take the lead. After a goalless first half dominated by Myanmar national team, they found the opener in the 64th minute Kyaw Ko Ko found the back of the net. But, the goal celebrations didn't last long as the goal getter was dismissed after being shown the second yellow card of the match.
Sabeeth came on to the pitch in the 83rd minute replacing Inderpreeth Singh and scored the all important goal in the 90th minute to celebrate his call up to the national team.
Earlier, the Indian team, coached by Desmond Bulpin had produced a 2-1 victory over Myanmar in the first leg of the qualifier played at Balewadi Sports Complex, Pune on February 23.
