The first phase of the under-19 football tournament for I-League teams will be held at four venues from April 26 to May 6, 2011. The tournament will see the junior teams of 15 top division clubs that are pooled into four groups that will be played at Goa, Kolkata, Mumbai and Phagwara.
The only Kerala club in the competition, Viva Kerala are placed in Group D that also has JCT Mills FC and HAL Bangalore in it. Viva Kerala will play JCT on April 26 and HAL on April 30 in matches that are to be played at Phagwara in Punjab.
Group A comprises of Dempo SC, Churchill Brothers, Sporting Club de Goa and Salgaocar SC and will be played at Goa. Group B at Kolkata has Kingfisher East Bengal, Chirag United, Shillong Lajong FC and Mcdowell Mohun Bagan while Air India, Pune FC, ONGC and Mumbai FC will feature at Mumbai in Group C.
