A twenty member Viva Kerala under-19 team, coached by Bino George and captained by Prajeesh Gowardhan, will feature in the first phase of the Under-19 Football Tournament for I-League clubs that will be held at Phagwara from April 26, 2011.

The team will begin their campaign against JCT Mills FC on April 26, 2011 in Group D and then play HAL Bangalore on April 30 in the last group match. The winner of the group will advance to the next stage of the competition.

Bino George talked to FootballKerala.com and expressed his confidence in the team he has assembled for the tournament. "We got a good team this time with some great talents. I am confident that we will do well this year," said Bino who had been the coach of the under-19 team in the last campaign too.

"Last year, we were in a tough group with some biggies, but we managed to get good results. Unfortunately, that results weren't enough for advancing into the next round," said Bino. In the last year's tournament, Viva Kerala managed to get draws against Churchill Brothers, Dempo SC and Sporting Club de Goa, but crashed out of the competition after a 3-1 defeat to Salgaocar SC.

The under 19 team has already travelled to Punjab along with the team manager and the coach is expected to join them on Saturday. "I will be boarding the flight from Kolkata after the senior team's I-League match against East Bengal and will join the juniors on Sturday," said Bino who is also the assistant coach of Musli Power X-tra Viva Kerala in the I-League.
