Former Indian international player, AS Feroz, met a sad end to his life as he was found hanging at his residence  in Kecheri, Thrissur on Friday. The 34 year old was rushed to the hospital by his father but died on en route, told the police.

The police suggests that certain family issues could have forced Feroz to commit suicide. He is survived by his wife, Aamira, and two children. The funeral will take place at the Patikara Parapurthadathil Juma Masjid on Saturday morning.

The defender represented India on six occasions and made his international debut in theBristol Freedom Cup of 1998 in Colombo which India won. Feroz also has an international goal to his credit.

Feroz has also appeared for six times in the Santosh Trophy. He donned the colour of Kerala in five Santosh Trophies from 1997 to 2001. In 2002, he played for the Karnataka state team.

Feroz began his club career with FC Cochin. He went on to play for East Bengal, Mohun Bagan, Churchill Brothers, Mohamedans Sporting, Fransa Goa and ITI Bangalore and took field alongside the likes of IM VIjayan, Bhaichung Bhutia and Jo Paul Ancheri.

Feroz was more recently coaching the football team of Mar Dionysius College, Pazhanji.
