Calicut FC beat Malappuram 4–3 on penalties after 1–1
Calicut FC won a penalty shootout 4–3 against Malappuram FC at EMS Corporation Stadium after the Super League Kerala match finished 1–1.
Calicut FC beat Malappuram FC in a penalty shootout in the Super League Kerala on Friday 2 October. The match at EMS Corporation Stadium, Calicut, kicked off at 7.30 pm and ended 1–1. The shootout finished 4–3 to the home side.
Daniel Lalhlimpuia put Malappuram ahead in the 65th minute. Leonardo David do Espírito Santo, on as a 59th-minute substitute, equalised for Calicut in the 79th. Malappuram's Mohamed Salim U (52nd minute) and Abdul Samed Ango (84th) were booked, and so was Calicut's Ajith K R, two minutes into stoppage time, shortly after coming on.
Leonardo David do Espírito Santo, Federico Herman Boasso Fleury, Alexis Gastón Sosa and Lalnuntluanga scored Calicut's kicks in the shoot-out. Abdul Samed Ango, Nedim Hadzic and Grace Adieu Youmou Ngadi Obiang scored for Malappuram.
